After living in Scotland in my early 20’s and learning that midwives were a real thing and not something out of a historical novel, I returned to Canada and started down the birth culture rabbit hole. I discovered that birth is not how it is often portrayed on TV and that there are so many ways to bring tiny humans in to the world. To that end, I entered nursing with the specific intent of working in Maternity care, and have done so since my graduation in 2014. While I have my Perinatal Specialty from BCIT which focuses on labour and delivery, I also have a strong background in postpartum care.
